This is a Thai dish but very popular in Japan, and this is my own take on the recipe without Thai basil. The lime and coriander cuts through a strong flavoured dish, creating a beautiful harmony of exciting flavours. This is my husband’s favourite dish, so why not try cooking it for your partner to see if he loves it too :-)

Ingredients

300g pork mince
2 clove garlic
1 red chilli
1 green pepper
1tsp oyster sauce
2tsp fish sauce
1tsp sugar
Salt & pepper

Step 1

Chop garlic and chili and fry in vegetable oil until they release an aroma. Chop the green pepper after removing the white part and seeds.

Step 2

Fry the pork mince in the same pan under brown. Then add the green pepper and fry a little more. Add the sugar, oyster sauce, fish sauce and some corriander (stalks and leaves). Personally, I hate corriander so I’d use Thai basil but choose as you wish). Fry and egg and put it on top of the mixture, on top of some rice! Then garnish with corriander and squeeze a lime slice over to finish.
